Our Rating Methodology
Every platform reviewed on [esportsbettingsitesnotongamstop.it.com] is evaluated using a consistent six-category framework. This page explains exactly how we score each category, what we test, and how those scores combine into an overall rating. Transparency in methodology matters โ you should know how we arrive at our conclusions, not just what those conclusions are.
Licensing and Security (Weighted 20%)
We verify the license type and issuing authority for every platform. Licensing jurisdiction matters: a Kahnawake Gaming Commission license carries more regulatory weight than a Curaรงao license, which in turn sits above Anjouan or Costa Rica. Sites with no confirmed license receive the lowest possible score in this category and are flagged explicitly in the review.
We also check for SSL encryption, operator transparency (disclosed company name and corporate registration), and any publicly reported security incidents. A site that refuses to disclose its operator receives a significant penalty regardless of its license status.
Payment Options (Weighted 15%)
We test at least two deposit methods and one withdrawal method per platform. Scoring accounts for the breadth of payment options, minimum and maximum deposit/withdrawal thresholds, processing speed verified by our own experience, and whether the stated withdrawal timeframes match reality. Crypto flexibility is assessed separately โ platforms offering 10+ cryptocurrencies with confirmed fast processing score higher than those listing coins without verifying availability.
Esports Market Depth (Weighted 25%)
This is the most heavily weighted category because this site exists specifically for esports bettors. We assess the number of esports titles covered, the types of markets available per match (match winner only versus map handicaps, round totals, first blood, proposition bets), live betting availability, cash-out functionality during esports events, and the accuracy and competitiveness of odds compared to market benchmarks.
A site claiming esports coverage that only offers match-winner markets on two titles scores significantly lower than one offering deep pre-match and live markets across seven or more titles.
Bonuses and Terms (Weighted 20%)
We read every word of bonus terms and conditions before forming an opinion. Scoring accounts for the genuine usable value of the offer rather than the headline percentage. A 100% bonus with 20x wagering scores higher than an 800% bonus with 40x wagering and a โฌ2 max bet. We specifically evaluate sports and esports bonus applicability, minimum odds requirements, validity windows, and whether the stated terms match what’s actually in the fine print. Platforms whose terms are buried, contradictory, or deliberately obscure receive lower scores.
Customer Support (Weighted 10%)
We contact support at a minimum of twice per platform โ once during peak hours and once during off-peak hours (typically between midnight and 6 AM GMT). We record connection times, agent knowledge quality, and resolution rates for our test queries. Platforms with 24/7 live chat that actually connects within five minutes score at the top of this category. Email-only platforms receive the lowest scores regardless of response quality.
User Experience (Weighted 10%)
We assess the platform on both desktop and mobile. Scoring covers navigation intuitiveness, ease of finding esports markets specifically, bet slip functionality, live betting interface performance under real conditions, and page load speeds. Mobile apps receive a bonus in this category โ they are rare among non-GamStop platforms and represent a genuine usability advantage. We do not score aesthetics independently; design quality is only relevant insofar as it affects the ability to navigate and place bets efficiently.
What We Don’t Score
We deliberately exclude several factors that many review sites use to inflate scores for paying advertisers. We do not score brand awareness, marketing quality, social media follower counts, or software provider name recognition. We do not give bonus points for having a large game library if the esports offering is weak. A platform with 13,000 slots and poor esports coverage will score lower in our system than a platform with 5,000 games and exceptional esports depth.
Score Interpretation
Platforms scoring above 8.0 represent our top-tier recommendations โ strong across all six categories with no major red flags. Scores between 6.0 and 7.9 indicate solid platforms with meaningful caveats noted in the review. Scores between 4.0 and 5.9 suggest platforms we consider marginal โ potentially useful for specific use cases but not broadly recommended. Anything below 4.0 is included for awareness purposes only and carries an explicit warning in the review text.
How Often We Update
Reviews are updated when we become aware of significant changes: license updates, major changes to payment processing, new ownership, substantial bonus restructuring, or a pattern of newly reported player complaints. We aim to revisit each reviewed platform at least once every six months. The publication date and last-updated date appear at the top of every review page.
